NonWoven Geotextiles are most manufactured with what's called a "needle-punched" process, using barbed needles to create a felt-like permeable geotextile fabric. Rather than weaving together fabric on a loom, nonwoven geotextiles are manufactured by bonding materials together, either through chemical or heat, needle punching or other methods. They are made of synthetics and most often used in filter or separation applications. NonWoven Geotextile Fabrics have a felt-like consistency engineered for strength and water flow. Made in several different weights and filtration levels, these geotextiles are an ideal solution for separation, drainage, sediment control, cushioning, and various construction and road repair applications. NonWoven Fabrics are high in resistance to UV rays, rot, and degradation.

Non-woven geotextiles are manufactured from either continuous filament yarn or short staple fiber. The bonding of fibers is done using thermal, chemical or mechanical techniques or a combination of techniques.

Since non-woven geotextile fabrics are reinforced by thread crossing thread, they work as a strong barrier.

 

 

 

A: Needlepunched and poly-spun varieties of nonwoven geotextile fabric allow water to easily flow through and are both sturdy and versatile for landscaping drainage. The non-woven geotextile fabric is most commonly used as a landscape material to support adequate drainage, filtration, and ground stabilization.

A: When designed, installed and maintained in accordance with the published literature most TERRAM geotextiles are sufficiently durable to achieve a design life of at least 100 years in most typical soil conditions.

A: The geotextile is usually laid in the direction of construction traffic; however, specific project dimensions may alter this layout. Geotextile panels should be overlapped both side-to-side and end-to-end, in the direction of aggregate placement.

A: Geotextile fabric provides an ideal solution to waterproofing projects because it is highly durable and water-resistant. Not only does it keep water out, but it also allows air and moisture to penetrate into the walls and surfaces of buildings, helping prevent mold and mildew buildup.
